Great Idea but it SUCKS
I am now installing PLIGG for the 3rd time. The idea for PLIGG is a great idea but as a easy to fix program with development bugs > it sucks!!

If only it worked...
This looks so promising. I installed easily and started to get excited with one major glitch: every time you press the "submit" button you are sent to cyber**** of 404! I am getting this with a lot of apps installed by GoDaddy, ie them not working properly, and I suspect it is due to some rights not given by the server to the applications. Unfortunately support is not very supportive on such issues and usually respond "can't touch the apps, bye bye!"

Twitter?
I'd definitely give this a simple Twitter-type interface. VERY simple to setup for admin, and does allow for themes, modules and admin-screen template modifications. For an already established group, this could be a real asset for keeping in touch. big plus for out-of-the-box Captcha implementation, as well as a few other options for new user or new post verification.

I think I'm better off with Drupal
This does not let you make anything like a facebook clone. its essentially just a CMS platform with built in serialized content mechanisms you usually have to custom build in other CMS systems. I didn't find any features that I would consider to be uniquely social networking in nature. There are modules you can get to add functionality but I tried googling for them and didn't see anything worth choosing this over Drupal. The admin interface is real pretty though.
