phpMyFaq is about the most frustrating thing...
There goes three hours of my life I will never get back. Did the GD Auto Install from my server management tools and after countless PHP script errors, I uninstalled... only to reinstall, then uninstall, and reinstall... to no avail. Won't run the install script. Wont run the Admin script. Won't re-run the install script to fix the issues with the admin script. JOKE - phpmyfaq, you... out of the gene pool!
Did the FAQ job OK for me - not too bad
Overall, I think phpMyFAQ was OK for setting up an FAQ. Reasonably simple to set up and use, edit and update FAQs, etc. Yeah, make sure you use 'Admin' as your user name when setting it up.
Not too bad
It works pretty well, and I found it easy to enter and edit FAQs. I did have one big problem in that I tried to add a HREF tag to the title and it crashed the system. I have to delete and reload the app. That's what I get for trying to get too fancy.
Fix
To install, you must use admin as your user name!!! It is the only way it will work. Idk what the quirk is, but it works this way. It would be nice of someone to fire and email to the creator of this letting him know the bug? :) Good Luck!
Great if somewhat confusing
When wanting to edit the looks, one has to have at least some knowledge of CSS and PHP. When installing this for the first time you must use admin as your username during installation. I've tried using another name and had probs getting into the configurations. But after uninstalling and reinstalling using the above username, it worked fine. I give it 4 stars since it starts off confusing.
