Far short of other options
Slow, buggy, bloated. The photo uploader library plug-in is terrible, and don't try to change the theme or most of your other plug-ins will stop working. If you are comfortable with diving into the code, then have at it, but I am afraid that the bloated nature of the scripting will frustrate both you and your members long before you get far. This is not for beginners: Wordpress is in another section.

Super site
Super site, but as with most apps like this, it takes some advanced computer literacy. If you think you know social sites just because you live on facebook, this is not for you. If you honestly want to dedicate the time and you are not doing it just because you want to say you have your own site, this is excellent.

Elgg is rocks. That's right. I have twice installed. Nearly two months I tried to learn it. Elgg is still hard. But I began to like Elgg. Thank you GoDaddy. Because it helps the installation process.

Upgrade Errors
I installed this app in 2008. Was never able to install any upgrades. Godaddy was never able to provide a solution to repair. rolled back the install to 2008 version and tried to install the upgrade 17 times and always failed. The old version worked fine, had thousands of users who used it. May reinstall it, sadly all my users will have to create new accounts because removed the dbase too. did not want to back up something that may be part of the upgrade issues. I recommend this app. Was easy to install and maintain.
