Not ready to work
Looks very user friendly, not so at all. Having to add modules to simply publish one paragraph is too much work when other content providers do more and make sense. I've been into computers and programming since 1987, this was disappointment.

Very Nice App!
Seems the ones that are complaining are script kiddies that have no experience in web design or CMS's they expect a simple point and click application because there too lazy to actually learn the CMS that there using. This is a very powerful and useful CMS for the right people. If you want something that you want exactly then go pay hundreds of dollars to a web designer and programmers, otherwise learn the CMS before complaining about something that is given free and open source the developers of this CMS work dam hard to provide you all a quality product.

Too confusing and too many bugs.
I really don't suggest newbie to use this application. Your heart will break when you are too eager to make a webpage but the application misleads you.

Xoops Isn't For Everyone...
I see a great deal of negative reviews associated with xoops, and that's unfortunate. If given a little patience and willingness to move a step beyond point/click/done ideology, xoops is a very powerful, extremely flexible cms. I've worked with xoops for the past 5 years, between Max-Realms.com and my own private ventures, and there's never been a time that I had to choose something else for xoops failing to perform. Sure, xoops has forced me to step out of my comfort zone and learn some html, php and css coding but that only proves useful anyway... but is not at all necessary to get a xoops-based site running at full speed. As cracktout pointed out, xoops.org is chock-full of modules that extend the functionality of the core xoops cms. Furthermore, most modules are heavily supported with years of development into them. Xoops isn't for everyone, this is true. Although a site can be launched from installation with no intervention, it's almost a must to learn how to use the backend, learn some php/html/css in order to alter the theme settings and enrich block content. As well, it's safe to assume that if you're working as a freelance web dev or as a hobbyist, you're going to want to learn a few tricks of the trade anyway to maximize your efficiency and quality in the end results of creation. All-in-all, despite what some may call 'too much effort', xoops is well worth it.

Terrible
This is just bad software. It isn't intuitive. It takes far too much effort to get something done. I would not recommend this at all. I took over a web site that had this installed. I had to get rid of it and start from scratch.
