Forum Works - You Can Stop The Spam
I read the reviews on the forum and saw that others posted that there is a lot of spam for this app. So I researched it and found an easy to install mod that stops the spam from hitting the forum pages. This mod is called "Stop Spam" and can be found on the SMF website. Once you install that mod this forum rocks. I still get spam requests, but the stop smap mod checks the IPs and blocks them. I have had not troubles. The mail function setup can be a bit tricky though.

Spammer Heaven
I installed this feature and began getting up to 75 registrations per day. Immediately irrelevant and sometimes pornographic message began appearing, in spite of the fact that I also installed protection from bot registrations. After three months of weeding out the "Offenders" I closed the link to SMF. Now, with the link closed for three weeks, I am down to about 15 registrations a day. As soon as I can find how, I will uninstall this forum.

2.0 is twice as good!
Uses SMF in the past versions, and the latest fixes almost everything that others have had issues with. Lots of mods and themes, many options it discourage spammers, and so many different options to tweak it to your purpose that it should now fit almost any need.
