LifeType is an open-source blogging platform with support for multiple blogs and users in a single installation. Writing articles is comfortable with the included state of the art WYSIWYG editor. Adding pictures and sound files (for Podcasting) is just a matter of browse and click. The Dashboard provides you with all the information you need every time you log in. Recent articles, comments and trackback as well as brief statistics get you updated about your blog immediately.

Kinda hard to use, comparitively speaking...
We chose to go with Serendipity. It seemed to be a little easier, and seems to have more templates once you get the plugin that links to the s9y repository.
Very Simple to use, simple to change, simple to alter
After searching for a best blog apps, I found Lifetype as the better option. It is easy to use, simple to change with some knowledge of javascript, css and html, simple to alter with some knowledge of php, and very simple to scale with plugings avalible.
But every time I preffer to install the latest version then I go to the Lifetype home page and do the installation manually, its easy.
Not recommended
The installation was a breeze. But I can guarantee you one thing, if you are looking for a blog that will allow users to register and edit their own blogs, try looking somewhere else. This was not a very good applications. -Sorry
Needs Instructions
What I needed was a friendly user guide -- NOT a convoluted Wiki, NOT a forum -- just simple instructions to follow. Couldn't find instructions, so I couldn't use it.
You can find something better
It didn't meet all my requirements , still not mature. I moved to WordPress
