I was hesitant to try drupal because everyone seems to find it very hard to use. I found it no more confusing that wordpress to get a basic blog going. It's a very good piece of software, definitely give it a try. I would say Drupal is better than wordpress, and about even with Serendipity.

Secure, Smart, Proactive and built for the future
After using another popular CMS for a couple of years and having my paged hacked, I logged into the Joomla security forum to ask about extension security reviews. My question was moved into an obscure extension info forum with misinformation and an accurate answer. Extensions, including very popular ones, are flagged after the fact as security risks. This information is also placed in an obscure corner to downplay the exposure. Drupal is secure. Extensions are thoroughly tested. Extension update notifications are emailed when they become available. Drupal is smart with a faster interface that is laid out in a more logical manner giving you the tools to get the desired results. Drupal is proactive. Check Drupal out, it kicks Joomla booty. Don't be led into a false sense of security with a superficial, shallow CMS. You will regret that decision.

Know what you are doing
Drupal is a robust database driven website software application. It can be easy to install but if you are inexperienced it can be a steep learning curve. For example, if you update an older version of drupal using the Godaddy provided update link you can crash the site because the update will change the password to the drupal database. If you know how access the settings.php file after the install and change the password to the correct one you should use Drupal. If you don't, never update the version or use another simpler website build program. I've built many sites using Drupal, including multi-site installations with up to 100 sub-domains, all sites using the same drupal install, themes, etc.. I find Drupal to be one of the best database driven website applications when it comes to software architecture

If you don't mind spam and spoofing...
I downloaded the application, but never got around to using it. I kept noticing, though, that I was getting email from "me" about updates. Okay, after a while I got tired of my inbox filling with them, so I came and found the setting to remove notifications. Only...I still get the notifications that spoof as me. Any program that feels the need to email me constantly after I tell it not to, and feels that it must spoof me in order for me to pay it heed...there's probably a reason and I don't need it or recommend it.
